RGA Surveyors is the successor of the former partnership, known as Robert Gavin Associates, which for many years has operated within the West of Scotland. Robert Gavin Associates can trace its roots back to 1972 when it was founded in Southend. 

Robert Gavin(Jnr) joined the partnership in 2006, and set up the Scottish office of the partnership, which was made up by two partners, Robert Gavin, and David McRae. The business expanded in late 2021, when William Mair, a Chartered Building Surveyor and Low Carbon Consultant joined the firm, and in February 2022, the partnership evolved into a Limited Company, with the three directors, Robert Gavin, David MacRae, and William Mair.

The existing workload of the practice is largely Building Surveying based, that is providing reports on domestic and non-domestic properties. We offer the full range of Building Surveying services from Defect Analysis through to Dilapidations, Fire Insurance Valuations, Statutory Consent Applications etc.  When William joined the business it was to expand the range of services provided to include energy efficiency works, as William is a Non-Domestic EPC Assessor, and a CIBSE Low Carbon Consultant. 

Robert Gavin Associates was originally established by Robert Gavin Snr in 1972, latterly with a focus on the South East, providing Building Surveying and Project Management Services to a number of commercial and domestic Clients.

In 2006, Robert Gavin Jnr joined the practice and set up the Scottish office based in Glasgow, and was joined in 2008 by David McRae as Partner.

The business expanded in late 2021, when William Mair, a Chartered Building Surveyor and Low Carbon Consultant joined the firm, and in February 2022, the partnership evolved into a Limited Company, with the three directors.

The practice provides Building Surveying, Project Management and Energy Consultancy services throughout Scotland, for both commercial and domestic Clients from Building Surveys, Schedules of Condition, Defect Analysis and Dilapidations, Fire Insurance Valuations, Statutory Consent Applications, EPCs, Retrofit works and Airtightness assessments, Condensation analysis and general energy consultancy.
